Learn to weave with the Tjanpi Desert Weavers. Start weaving your own basket using the kick-starter pack weaving pack. Each pack includes:
The Tjanpi Desert Weavers are from Irrunytju, Western Australia. They are a social enterprise of the Ngaanyatjarra Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (NPY) Women’s Council, working with women in the remote Central and Western deserts who earn an income from contemporary fibre art.
Tjanpi represents more than 400 Aboriginal women artists from 26 remote communities on the NPY lands. The NPY lands cover approximately 350,000 square kms across the tri-state border region (WA, SA, NT) of Central Australia. Tjanpi field officers regularly travel to these communities and purchase artworks from the artists, supply art materials, hold skills development workshops, and facilitate grass collecting trips.
Tjanpi also runs public weaving workshops, has a public gallery in Alice Springs, and regularly exhibits work in national galleries and commissions for public institutions and collectors.

Makes a great gift, clear instructions & look great
The kit contains easy to follow instructions and quality materials. Just started and am enjoying learning to weave. Have purchased a second kit as it will make a great gift.
This little kit is great! Comes with everything you need, and an explanation of how to weave. Perfect for my grandchildren as a meaningful gift for Christmas, and will certainly spark conversation around the richness of First Nations culture.
Amazing quality, presented beautifully. I’m really excited to give these to my daughters at Christmas- thank you!
I bought this kit because I’ve always wanted to learn or participate in cultural weaving workshops and never managed to get to one. The instructions were clear, fabulous video tutorial and inspiring story. I was so happy to support these wonderful women. My children are mesmerised and working on their own baskets too. It has brought us all together and I can see it catching on in my little hills community - a great way to come together and recover post bushfire for us too.
